(NFF), a public-sector-focused IT solutions provider, announced that former GSA Chief Information Officer and Commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service Sonny Hashmi has joined NFF as their Federal sector Executive Advisor. Sonny will support NFF and its current federal clients by providing strategic guidance and also focus on NFF’s continued growth across the federal market.
Currently at Unqork as Head of Public Sector, Sonny helps government agencies reduce their reliance on legacy technology and create modern digital experiences. Sonny is also the former commissioner of the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Federal Acquisition Service (FAS). In that role, he oversaw the delivery of more than $100B of products, services, and solutions that enable federal agencies to efficiently accomplish their missions while saving taxpayer dollars. Sonny previously served as the managing director of global government strategy at Box, as well as GSA’s chief information officer (CIO) and chief technology officer (CTO). He led the agency’s IT modernization strategy as GSA adopted cloud computing, agile acquisition, and DevSecOps principles, and helped create a cloud computing and performance measurement roadmap for the federal government.
