Data Center Virtualization

  • DC Government – As part of DC Government's city-wide “Data Center” consolidation project, NFF assisted the District by architecting a resilient data center model that incorporated Cisco unified fabric data center switching and servers. The project involved two full time CCIEs that considered Storage, Virtualization, Redundancy, Disaster Recovery and Performance of critical applications amongst other factors in their design.
  • District of Columbia Primary Care Association – EMC Clariion SAN upgrade, thorough network assessment and gap analysis for all 5 clinic locations, and a Network Infrastructure re-Design and Implementation (Firewalls, Routers, Switches).
  • Rosenthal Automotive – Design to improve efficiency and reduce 25 physical servers to 4 with full redundancy and automatic failover capabilities. Our solution was designed around virtual platforms with Cisco C- series rack-mount Servers, VMware Enterprise licensing, and Nexus Switching fabric, which allowed for a 10-gig backplane for the core infrastructure.
  • Spacenet – SAN Zoning Design, Implementation and Operational Support Using Cisco MDS 9000 Switches. Specified appropriate Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) and VMware solutions and configured International Video Teleconferencing using Tandberg equipment.
  • Office of the District of Columbia Auditor – NFF provided a solution to consolidate the DC Auditor’s server farm to two physical host servers with one VLAN for VMware Vsphere Management, one VLAN for VMotion and one VLAN for the existing ISCSI SAN integration.
